Wow, this summer flew right on by!!

It’s the first day of school at Mark Newbie – year three for us here in Collingswood, and we are just bursting with excitement!

Sylvie starts fourth grade this year, with Mrs. DeAmicis. She’s been told that fourth grade is very serious, but we’re not worried about her keeping up. In fact, I think she’ll thrive with some new challenges!

When she grows up, Sylvie wants to be: an artist and musician.

Sylvie’s current favorites include: noodles, music, and reading and writing stories.

Simon starts third grade this year, with Mrs. Patterson. Sylvie loved her last year, and her puppy happens to be a favorite dog park friend of Remy’s!

When he grows up, Simon wants to be: a dog trainer.

Simon’s current favorites include: hockey, ice cream, and music, too!

These two big kids will be continuing some of their very favorite activities this school year. Simon hopes to complete all sessions of our rink’s roller hockey league. Sylvie will start hard shoe in her Irish dance classes. They’ll play together in their second mixed-ages School of Rock show. Sylvie has changed teachers to Miss Sophia and is studying both keyboard and singing. Simon is starting keyboard with Mr. Mike (Kordish) and will continue practicing drums on his own and with the band. Let us know if you want to come to their next show – they perform in real Philly venues and it’s so fun! (Bring earplugs.)

We’re so proud of these crazy kiddos and hopeful that this school year they’ll strengthen their friendships, learn new skills, stay healthy, and be even stronger by this time next year.
